BritAsia switchoff delayed by a day

16 January 2025

Updated / Birmingham-based channel for British Asians previously announced it was coming off Sky on Wednesday.

BritAsia continued a bit longer on Sky channel 761, despite announcing it would end broadcasts on satellite from 15th January.

The broadcaster recently launched a new streaming service, BritAsia Digital, to replace its service on satellite. The app, available on a selection of smart TVs, phones and tablets offers 4K UHD streaming.

After the 15th came and went, there was uncertainty over when BritAsia would be pulled. There had been no public confirmation on Sky’s side of the channel’s removal.

In the end, the channel was removed on Thursday morning.

BritAsia previously said in a statement (also below) that Sky is no longer the platform that aligns with its vision for delivering cutting edge entertainment.
