ITV will screen four games in the fifth round of the FA Cup, with the BBC picking up coverage of three games.
- Aston Villa gets primetime slot on ITV1 and STV
- Manchester City v Plymouth Argyle relegated to ITV4.
- BBC to screen Manchester United v Fulham.
Cardiff’s visit to Aston Villa in FA Cup will be screened live on ITV1 and STV on Friday 28th February as the broadcaster confirm how they’re splitting fifth round coverage for the last time before ITV loses the rights at the end of the season.
ITV will also screen Manchester City v Plymouth Argyle on Saturday 1st March, but the game will be relegated to ITV4. On Sunday 2nd March, the lunchtime Newcastle Utd v Brighton & Hove Albion will be live on ITV’s main channel, plus STV in Central and Northern Scotland.
The broadcaster will also once again feature Nottingham Forest’s next FA Cup game versus Ipswich Town, but on ITV4. All ITV games are streamed on ITVX. Games shown on ITV1 will be available on STV Player if you’re in Central or Northern Scotland.
BBC games
The BBC is screening Crystal Palace v Millwall (Saturday 1st March) and Manchester United v Fulham (Sunday 2nd March) live on BBC One and iPlayer.
The broadcaster is also home to the Saturday 1st March midday match between Preston North End and Burnley. The match is billed as ‘iPlayer only’, however like third and fourth round games given the same treatment, the game will be screened on the BBC Red Button channel (BBC RB1), available on Freeview channel 601, Sky satellite and Freesat channel 970 and Virgin Media cable TV on channel 991. Traditional TV broadcasts don’t suffer the same lag as the iPlayer, so fans can see the goals sooner than streamers.
