Six months after making its debut on Freeview, the eGaming channel is no longer available on the Freeview channel guide.
- GINX continues to be available on other online platforms
- Availability on Freeview was due to open up a “multitude of opportunities”.
GINX TV has been delisted and removed from the Freeview platform after a short stint as a streamed channel to connected Freeview devices. The channel continues via other online platforms popular with gamers, notably Twitch. A live stream is available to registered users on GINX’s own website.
It was most recently available to stream through Freeview channel 282. It was delivered as a HbbTV hybrid streaming channel and also listed on the Freely EPG.

No reason for the abrupt switch-off after six months was given. However, just last August, GINX TV CEO Peter Einstein said he was “thrilled to be bringing GINX to Freeview, one of the UK’s most accessible digital TV and streaming platforms”. At the time, there was talk of the partnership opening up “a multitude of opportunities for GINX”. The press release at the time spoke of the Freeview channel providing the “potential to reach millions of gaming and esports enthusiasts in the UK.”
Prior to appearing on the Freeview channel list, GINX had already given up its slot on Sky satellite. It left Virgin Media in 2018.
RXTV had received anecdotal reports from viewers saying the channel struggled to load on some Freeview Play devices that would otherwise play other streaming services normally.
