- 13 million streamed Prime Video’s UEFA Men’s Champions League coverage.
- Liverpool’s match versus Paris Saint-Germain set a new UK viewing record.
Over 13 million viewers have accessed Prime Video’s debut season of UEFA Champions League (UCL) in the UK & Ireland across the 2024–25 season.
According to Amazon, that result has set a new record for the most watched season of sport on Prime Video in Europe.
This season’s Knockout Phase also set new record audiences for individual live sporting events on Prime Video in the UK.
Paris Saint-Germain’s victory against Liverpool in the Round of 16, including extra-time and penalties, set a new UK viewership record, surpassing 5 million viewers across the evening.
The game surpassed the previous record live audience for Prime Video UK, which was set in February 2023 when Arsenal clashed with Manchester City in the Premier League.
Coverage of Prime Video’s debut UCL season in the UK & Ireland concluded with Inter Milan v FC Barcelona. The game reached over 4 million viewers across the evening.
TNT Sports holds the rights to the finals, which are being made available for free through Discovery+ (but not RoI).
Alex Green, Managing Director of Prime Video Sport, International said:
“These record audiences show how the reach and accessibility of Prime extends these huge European matches to even more fans. This is also a great credit to our talented production team who make these headline Tuesday matches a truly must-watch spectacle, with 90 minutes of pre-match coverage and a constant pitch-side presence that fans have really responded to. We are just getting started and will continue to innovate as we develop our coverage next season.”
Prime Video has the rights to show a selection of live UEFA Men’s Champions League games for another two seasons in the UK. Prime Video has non-exclusive Champions League coverage in the Republic of Ireland.
