ITV aims to cheer viewers up with its recent additions to its streaming channel line-up on ITVX.
Two channels dedicated to comedy have joined the ITVX streaming service in the past month, as special channels dedicated to Christmas and the World Cup make way for alternative services.
Massive Laughs is the home to comedy including millennial comedy Buffering. The channel also carries comedy specials featuring the likes of Jeff Goldblum and Will Forte.
Classic Comedy, which first popped up during the holidays, scours ITV’s back-catalogue of comedy shows including Benidorm, which ran on ITV between 2007 and 2018.
Viewers can drop in at anytime, with ITVX listing what’s on now and what’s on next. Unlike ‘traditional’ channels, there’s no published schedule for each channel.
The two channels are part of 20 live channels available on ITVX, which are in addition to ITV’s traditional TV channels. ITV has promised to vary the channel line-up throughout the year, with pop-up channels to mark special seasons. However some of the streaming channels including ITV Signed will be permanent.
But the ITVX live channel tab is missing on some TV platforms. Affected viewers can usually just switch to TV and access ITV channels from the TV channel list instead. But this does deny viewers access to the online-only channels.
