ITV keeps Horse Racing and Formula E

30 September 2025

ITV has announced two major sports broadcasting agreements that will extend its coverage of UK horse racing and Formula E on free-to-air TV.

  • ITV will broadcast UK horse racing until 2030, with 117 days of live coverage each year.
  • Formula E coverage is extended through 2027, with expanded race and qualifying broadcasts.
  • First significant gains for ITV Sport after losing NFL, Snooker and Cycling rights

In a newly signed four-year deal, ITV will continue to broadcast exclusive UK horse racing coverage until 2030. The agreement includes 117 days of live racing annually across ITV1, ITV4, STV, and ITVX, featuring marquee events such as the Grand National, Royal Ascot, Cheltenham Festival, and the Derby.

The morning programme The Opening Show will also remain part of the schedule.

ITV Racing has enjoyed record streaming figures in 2025, with over 15 million streams on ITVX and peak audiences of 5.2 million for the Grand National.

Separately, ITV has renewed its partnership with Formula E for two more seasons, covering Seasons 12 and 13 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship through 2027.

The upcoming season will be the largest yet, with 18 races across 12 cities including São Paulo, Madrid, Miami, and Monaco.

Coverage will include all qualifying sessions live on ITVX, with more races than ever airing on ITV4. Highlights will follow each race on ITV4, and the GEN4 car will debut at the end of 2026.
