Freely to add WBD channels to streaming service

From early 2026, Freely users will no longer need an aerial connection to watch WBD Freeview channels including Quest, Quest Red, DMAX and Food Network.
4 December 2025

The company behind the Freely TV platform has signed an agreement with Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) to stream six of its free-to-air channels, alongside the streaming-exclusive service CNN Headlines.

Everyone TV says the deal with WBD will bring extra streaming channels to Freely from early 2026, with CNN Headlines available immediately.

Quest, Quest Red, DMAX, Food Network, Really and TLC will be offered as online streams to Freely receivers to coincide with WBD’s relaunch of its free-to-air portfolio of channels.

How will this affect you?

My Freely device is connected to both the internet and a TV aerial
  • Your Freely device will automatically switch from the terrestrial feeds of Quest, Quest Red, DMAX, Food Network, Really and TLC to the streaming feed following an update.
I have my Freely device connected to the internet only (i.e. wifi or ethernet only)
  • Your Freely device will get an update in early 2026 making these channels visible on your TV channel guide.
How do I know if I have Freely or Freeview built-in to my TV?
  • On a smart TV, go to channel 100. You’ll either see a portal to Freeview Play or Freely. You’ll also find other channels are in a different order. On Freeview, ITV3 is on channel 10, but on Freely, it’s on 7.
  • Non-smart TVs do not support Freely.

The launch of WBD channels on Freely takes the total count of streaming-only services to over 70.

Freely’s streams should, depending on the quality of your internet connection, offer a better picture quality versus the 544×576 resolution used on Freeview.

That means you’ll literally get a better view of some of WBD’s new linear TV shows from 2026. This includes the reimagined Mock The Week on the new-look TLC channel, which shifts its focus to comedy when it goes free-to-air next year.

CNN Headlines available immediately

In the meantime, Freely viewers can already watch CNN Headlines, WBD’s free ad-supported channel looping top stories from the US-based international news network. It appears on channel 305 after an update.

The service is distinct from the better-known CNN International. Freely users may still be able to access CNN International separately through apps on smart TVs and streaming sticks.

Freely has now largely replaced Freeview Play on budget TV models in the UK. Premium manufacturers such as Samsung and LG have yet to adopt the platform, which works via a type of app that takes over the TV’s user interface, though both offer their own streaming channel line-ups alongside broadcast services
