Mock the Week will return to free-to-air TLC TV channel on 7 June with an additional 5-episodes for a brand-new special series.
- New “special series” to cover ongoing political chaos and the World Cup
- Official second series on TLC to be screened this autumn.
WBD has announced an extra helping of Mock The Week, the ex-BBC format it’s revived for the recently relaunched TLC.
Host Dara Ó Briain and his sidekick, series regular Rhys James, will guide viewers through the complex and turbulent global news cycle. Joining them is an all-start rotating panel of comedy guest-stars. They include: Maisie Adam, Ed Gamble, Sara Pascoe, Chris Ramsey and Russell Howard.
Also ready to take on the summer headlines are Hugh Dennis, Ed Byrne, Angela Barnes, Michelle Wolf, Milton Jones, Sarah Keyworth, Laura Lexx, Janine Harouni, Glenn Moore, Scott Bennett, Ahir Shah and Josh Pugh.
According to the programme’s makers, viewers can expect Mock the Week: Summer Specials “to be packed full of biting topical observation, hilarious flights of fancy, and searing football expertise.”
Graham Lafferty, SVP Content Strategy & Networks, UK & Ireland, Warner Bros. Discovery said:
“We are excited to bring Mock the Week back for these summer specials on TLC, and with a superb lineup of British comedic talent. From the return of our fan-favourites to some new faces for TLC, this all-star cast will have plenty to play with in a summer dominated by World Cup fever and no doubt much more to mock on home-shores.”
A regular second series will be broadcast on TLC and streaming platforms this autumn, as previously planned.
TLC is available on Freeview channel 12. You can also find it on all other major TV platforms. Mock The Week is available to stream on either Discovery+ and HBO Max.
