After weeks of technical issues, 4Music has confirmed it has now relaunched its music-free entertainment programmes with a revised schedule.
For nearly six weeks, 4Music has been either simulcasting The Box, Box Hits or running its own simplified schedule with music videos. This is a result of the Red Bee Incident in September, when a fire suppression system knocked out playout services taking multiple channels off-air.
4Music has now relaunched its afternoon and evening entertainment programmes, which includes comedy The Goldbergs at 8pm, 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown at 9pm and Taskmaster at 10pm. The 100 and Ricky and Morty return to the channel’s weekend schedules.
4Music launched in 2008 as a music channel replacing The Hits. It is part of the Channel 4-owned Box Plus Network. Over the course of the last decade, the channel has replaced music videos with entertainment programmes, similar to MTV. As a result, music videos have become confined to sister channels The Box, Box Hits, Magic and Kerrang.
However, not everything is back to normal at The Box Plus Network. At the time of publication, this week’s launch of BoXmas has been delayed further. Meanwhile, rock music station Kerrang is still not back on air after September’s incident.
