Broadcast infrastructure company confirms it will distribute the new GB News channel on Freeview, Freesat, Sky, Virgin Media and YouView.
The new right-of-centre news channel will offer over 6,500 hours of “unique” British news content. It aims to reach viewers who do not feel represented by traditional news providers.
Arqiva says it has designed a solution that will allow the channel to access all major television platforms. As a result, Arqiva will enable the channel to reach 96% of UK households. The full-service proposition sees Arqiva execute the launch and manage the programme delivery for GB News.
Chris Alner, Director of Commercial Broadcast at Arqiva, said:
“We’ve been at the centre of UK broadcasting for decades, and have the knowledge and experience to help our customers launch seamlessly across all major TV platforms in the UK. Our end-to-end proposition provides GB News with a one-stop service that will underpin a smooth arrival into the UK media landscape. As viewer expectations around instant news, reporting and analysis coverage heighten, we’re pleased to be able to support GB News on their journey.”
All the launch details, including channel numbers, will follow in the coming weeks.
