A new television channel specifically for dogs and their owners is set to launch in the UK next week. Dog TV will air “scientifically tested programming” to help dogs deal with separation anxiety, loneliness and stress.
The channel will also include shows designed to help owners better understand and look after their pets.
The colours, audio frequencies and camera alignment have been adapted to cater to dog senses, the channel’s programmes were developed following research into animals’ physiological and psychological needs, moods and responses.
Dog TV is already on-air in a number of countries around the world. However, the UK version of the channel will not be available via traditional TV platforms.
The channel owners say the service will be officially available in the UK from 8th November 2021 on a range of smart TVs, plus via Apple and Android apps. Compatible connected TVs include Apple TV, Fire TV, XBOX and Samsung Smart TVs.
