Roku users won’t be left without access to Amazon Prime Video after the two companies agreed to extend their current deal.
Thanks to the extension, UK viewers can continue to access Amazon’s live Premier League coverage alongside its wider catalogue of programmes.
In a statement, Roku said the multi-year extension included both the Amazon Prime Video and the IMDb apps. This includes across all of Roku’s currently supported suite of streaming devices.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Amazon Prime Video is seen as one of Roku’s key global apps. Despite this, it’s not been able to secure a prized button of its own on the Roku UK remote.
Unusually, the extension has occurred without any extra issues. Previously, Roku had been in protracted disputes with Google and Comcast over carriage of YouTube TV and Peacock.
