BT Sport is broadcasting live coverage of the Spanish Super Cup 2021/22, an annual football competition featuring last season’s winners and runners-up of Spain’s La Liga and the Copa del Rey.
The broadcaster has confirmed this year’s coverage will be presented by Lynsey Hipgrave alongside Rio Ferdinand and Joe Cole.
This year, Atletico Madrid (La Liga champions), Real Madrid (La Liga runners-up), Barcelona (Copa del Rey winners), and Athletic Club (Copa del Rey runners-up), will be featuring in the tournament.
The semi-finals take place on 12th and 13th January 2022, the final takes place on 16th January 2022. Semi-finals will be broadcast on BT Sport 1; the final on BT Sport 3.
Real Madrid v Barcelona – 12th January 2022 – 7pm kick off – BT Sport 1
Atletico Madrid v Athletic Club – 13th January 2022 – 7pm kick off – BT Sport 1.
Final – 16th January 2022 – 6pm coverage start – BT Sport 3.
It’s the third edition of the Spanish Super Cup in the new format of four teams, with BT Sport broadcasting all four games live from King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Athletic Bilbao enter the tournament as the current holders of the trophy after beating 13-time winners, Barcelona 3-2 AET in the Spanish Super Cup 2020-21 final.
