ITV1 will broadcast a special Saturday edition of Good Morning Britain as part of nine hours of live coverage of the Coronation.
A special programme produced by ITV News covering the Coronation of King Charles III follows live and ad-free from 08:30 – 15:00 on Saturday 6th May. Viewers can live stream coverage through ITVX.
Presenters Julie Etchingham and Tom Bradby will guide viewers through a day of pageantry and celebration. The ITV team includes Mary Nightingale, Nina Hossain, Charlene White and James Mates.

- Live audio description will be available via ITV1 for viewers who have the audio description (AD) option activated on their device.
- ITV’s Coronation coverage will be available on ITV3 with sign language.
Before then, the special Saturday edition of Good Morning Britain from 06:00 will see Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard on presenting duties live from Westminster Abbey. They’ll be joined by Ranvir Singh outside the Abbey speaking to guests as they arrive. Kate Garraway will be live from Buckingham Palace, Charlotte Hawkins will be with the Armed Forces and Laura Tobin will be live from the Long Walk in Windsor.
Alternatives on offer elsewhere
Channel 4 has promised to offer viewers a day of alternative programmes, for viewers wishing to avoid the pomp and ceremony of the Coronation.
- Preliminary schedules for the 6th May show back-to-back episodes of The Simpsons and live Formula E during the day.
The broadcaster has highlighted its specific remit to offer viewers an alternative behind its reason to screen a Coronation-free schedule.
Channel 5 has back-to-back Friends, followed by the films Sing and Richie Rich in the afternoon, again according to preliminary schedules, which could still change.
The BBC will have Coronation coverage on BBC One, BBC Two, BBC News and BBC iPlayer.
Sky’s coverage is live on Sky News and Sky Showcase. Both the BBC and Sky will offer UHD coverage.
