Weeks after closing one of its last remaining Sky channels, Trace Music has launched a new service for the UK.
Under the tagline “we are the culture”, the new Trace UK channel screens R’n’B videos 24/7 curated for a UK audience. Current schedule highlights include Drake’s top 20 hits, a profile of Kelis and the Trace Global Chart.
But Trace UK isn’t available via traditional TV platforms. Instead, it has now launched on Samsung TV Plus channel 4713, available on Samsung Smart TVs and newer Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets.
Satellite channel Trace Hits was closed in April, leaving the broadcaster with just one Sky channel – Trace Vault – still on air. In the meantime, Trace has been ramping up the availability of its services on connected or streaming TV platforms.
Trace also operates three channels – but not Trace UK yet – on Channelbox (Freeview channel 271).
The broadcaster originally entered the UK market by buying Sony’s former music channels, including Chart Show TV.
