- Update confirms stream of TalkTV successor service will be available on the platform.
Freeview has completed its latest monthly tidy-up of channels, with changes to streaming services.
Ahead of its removal from traditional TV platforms, TalkTV has secured a streaming slot on channel 294.
Once TalkTV’s current service on Freeview is closed (due to occur next week), the successor service will be an online-only visual feed of TalkRadio. That’s effectively what the channel was until two years ago, when owner News UK took the feed, added new evening programmes and turned TalkRadio TV into TalkTV. Although News UK had confirmed the TalkTV linear service would close, there had been no prior annoucement that the online replacement would be listed among Freeview’s streaming channels. Local TalkTV channels serving cities including Birmingham, Cardiff and Leeds have been rebranded back to their pre-October 2023 channel names, having adopted the Talk brand and logo last year.
Meanwhile, Zee World, which only became available on Freeview last year, has left the platform. It was available on channel 278 and included an English-language streaming service.
ITV has reshuffled its +1 placeholder channels, so that ITV3+1 has moved from channel 59 to 58. ITV4+1 has moved from 93 to 59. ITVBe+1 has moved from 58 to 93.
These ITV +1 timeshift channels currently act as placeholders and are only available for limited hours at night.
