LG owners get free channel upgrade

  • LG channels app gains new content from Lionsgate and Sony.

LG has confirmed its streaming channel app has been updated to add new channels.

The new Sony One streaming channels, first announced last month, are now available on LG smart TVs in the UK as well as France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland.

Sony One’s offering includes a comedy channel featuring classic Seinfeld, The Nanny and Who’s The Boss?

Sony One Thriller includes Breaking Bad while there’s a dedicated Sony One channel for international versions of Dragon’s Den and two movie channels.

Lionsgate, which recently dropped its own streaming service, has partnered with LG to bring some of its content to the new LG 1 channel. This will include exclusive rights to series including Wong & Winchester and Paul T. Goldman. Other shows on offer include Critics Choice Television Award winning series Nashville and Boss, starring Golden Globe winner Kelsey Grammer.

The newly added Lionsgate channels on LG include: MovieSphere, Wicked Tuna, Are We There Yet, Anger Management and Ghost Hunters.

How to access LG channels

  • LG Channels is available on LG Smart TVs (models 2016-present).
  • You can access the service and by pressing the dedicated key on the LG Magic Remote or via the LG TV home screen.
