The operator of the new factual reality channel GREAT! Real, which launches next week, have confirming where viewers will be able to find the channel.
- GREAT! Real, operated by Narrative Entertainment, will be broadcast on Freeview and Sky.
- Channel will be available in both the UK and Ireland.
A week ahead of the launch, GREAT! Real’s owner Narrative Entertainment have confirmed where viewers will be able to watch the channel on Sky. The new channel’s launching in both the UK and Ireland. Additionally, the channel will be made available on Sky’s internet-based TV platform (Sky Glass/Stream).
Last week, Narrative also confirmed GREAT! Real’s future Freeview channel number. The launch on Freeview channel 61 is part of a wider monthly Freeview channel update that will take place around midday on the 20th March.
RXTV can now confirm that at launch, GREAT! real only has reduced coverage on Freeview. This means some households will not receive the channel. However, a retune is still required, as a number of other Freeview channels have been updated.
GREAT! Real channel numbers
- Freeview channel 61. A retune may be required after 12 midday on 20th March.
- Sky Satellite channel 189 (+1: 289)
- Sky Glass/Stream channel 168 (UK) 161 (Ireland)
GREAT! Real will feature unscripted reality/factual shows including:
- Heathrow: Britain’s Busiest Airport
- Paddington Station 24/7
- Island Medics;
- Emergency Rescue: Air, Land and Sea
- Coast Guard Alaska.
GREAT! Real is not due to launch on Virgin Media at this stage. Narrative Entertainment pulled all of its channels from Freesat last month.
Meanwhile, EE TV users may be able to access the channel if their box is in ‘aerial mode’. This is subject to local Freeview coverage.
