TV manufacturer LG is celebrating 10 years since its smart TV operating platform WebOS launched. To mark the occasion, LG TV owners can choose from a range of freebies as it launches ‘Streaming Week’.
- Free trials of Apple TV+, Apple Music, Crunchyroll
- Discounted access to Paramount+ and DAZN NFL Game Pass
10 years ago, webOS made its debut on its first set of new LG TVs. To mark the occasion, viewers with LG TVs released from 2018 onward (running webOS 4.0 and above), have access to a range of special offers.
It’s part of LG Streaming Week, which – despite its name – will run for multiple weeks between 9th September and 13th October 2024.
During this time, owners of LG TVs released from 2018 onward (running webOS 4.0 and above), as well as StanbyME and StanbyME Go users will be able to access special offers. The promotion will take place in 44 countries worldwide. Specifically for LG TV owners in the UK and Ireland, Streaming Week will also offer specific localised offers.
What’s available during LG Streaming Week in UK/Ireland?
LG TV users should look out for the following special offers during the course of the Streaming Week campaign. These are just a sample of the offers available:
- Apple TV+ – a three-month free trial, allowing LG TV owners to enjoy the latest premium Apple Originals.
- Apple Music – LG is also providing customers with a three-month free trial of Apple Music, which offers over 100 million songs as well as over 30,000 expertly curated playlists, artist interviews, Apple Music Radio and more.
- Paramount+ discount – New and returning Paramount+ customers in the UK and Ireland can secure a 50% discount on an annual subscription.
- Mubi – The global streaming service will offer LG TV owners 70% off for six months.
- DAZN – New customers get 25% off the NFL Game Pass. This will give LG TV owners the opportunity to watch most NFL games, including the Playoffs and Super Bowl, live and on-demand. For users in the UK and Ireland, blackout restrictions apply on the games listed on the DAZN support website.
- Crunchyroll – the anime streamer offers a 30 day free trial.
- Baby Shark World – The service is granting 1 month of free access to its library of songs and stories that engage children in stimulating learning experiences.
How to redeem
Each promotional week will feature a different global and local partner line-up, with each partner limited offer accessible and redeemable solely on a weekly basis, from the LG Streaming Week app.
The LG Streaming Week app will be available from the home screen, content screen or in the main apps area.
Each week’s offers will expire and be replaced by another set of offers until the promotional period is over. You can only redeem an offer once, so if the same offer comes up again the following week, but you’ve already taken them up on the offer, you can’t try again.
However, LG Streaming Week will not be available on pre-2018 models. These don’t run the required version of webOS.
