The Paramount-owned free streaming service has this month rolled out its new look in the UK alongside further additional channels.
- Refresh comes ahead of planned integration of My5 into a single free streaming platform in the UK.
- Free-to-stream MTV channel among latest additions to the platform.
Those with a keen eye will have noticed changes to the Pluto TV service, which started rolling out first in the USA, then around the world.
Pluto TV has a new look, featuring a bold black and yellow logo. The new logo icon has in the past few days updated across various device platforms.
This replaces the last incarnation of the logo, introduced in 2020.
For streamers in the UK, the refresh comes ahead of the planned integration of My5 content on the Pluto TV technology platform. This will create a single destination for all of owner Paramount’s free-to-stream content.
Ahead of those changes, Pluto TV has also added new streaming channels, including a new service from Channel 5 and a free-to-stream offer from MTV.
New from Channel 5
5 Trucking Hell is the latest streaming channel from Channel 5, this time dedicated to the reality documentary series that follows workers in the heavy recovery industry. The series first appeared in UK TV screens in 2018 and has clocked up seven series so far. The new Channel 5 streaming service joins the likes of 5 Cops and 5 Exploring Britain.
MTV free streaming offer
MTV now offers Pluto TV users access to MTV: Best Of, which features performances from music legends.
MTV: Best Of joins MTV Classic, Yo! MTV Raps Classic, MTV Movie Hits, MTV Rocks, MTV Reality and MTV Love, all of which are free to stream on Pluto TV. That’s in contrast with MTV’s main channel and satellite and cable spin-offs, which are only available to Sky and Virgin Media subscribers.
Other new additions on Pluto TV include ‘Totally Turtles’, a channel showing classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (including episodes that were originally titled Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles in the UK)
And there’s a pop-up channel devoted to the three season animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Other permanent channels streaming on Pluto TV include CBS News, DAZN Women’s Football, UKTV Play Laughs and a Judge Judy channel.
