The local TV turned archive entertainment broadcaster ditches its decades-based music channels and replaces That’s Memories – which only a few weeks ago.
- That’s 80s and 90s music channels to be replaced
- New rock music channel to compete alongside NOW Rock on Sky’s channel list
- That’s TV 3 launching
That’s Media Ltd, the company behind the That’s TV network of channels is making yet more changes to its channel portfolio.
After a chaotic year for the company, which has launched and closed a number of channels across Sky and Freeview and annoyed viewers by making abrupt changes to its schedules, further changes take place in two rounds from Monday 19th August.
In round one on Monday 19th August, That’s 80s and That’s 90s on Sky satellite channels 365 and 366 will disappear.
Instead, music channel viewers will be able to watch That’s Melody – the replacement for That’s 80s – on channel 361. Meanwhile, That’s Rock will launch on channel 359 – right next to NOW ROCK on channel 358. NOW ROCK moved to channel 358 to take over Kerrang’s former slot which became vacant when the channel closed this summer.
▶ Overview: changes on Monday 21st August 2024
Sky channel number | Channel Name | Comment |
---|---|---|
359 | That’s Rock | New* |
361 | That’s Melody | New* |
365 | That’s 80s | Removed |
366 | That’s 90s | Removed |
While That’s Rock will attempt to lure viewers from NOW ROCK, That’s Melody looks set to try and attract viewers who might have been attracted by the now defunct Magic TV channel with “feel good melodies”.
That’s Memories is history
In the second round of changes, on Wednesday 21st August, That’s TV gets rid of That’s Memories – less than two months after launching the new brand (which in turn replaced That’s 60s on Sky and Freeview).
That’s Memories will become That’s TV 3, following in the footsteps on That’s TV and That’s TV2 with music, archive entertainment and factual shows. The timing of the change coincides with this month’s Freeview channel update.
