Amazon’s streaming service Prime Video is expanding the selection of live sports available in the UK with the launch of a pay-per-view marketplace to purchase live Ligue 1 football matches.
Fans of French football in the UK will be able to purchase the biggest Ligue 1 McDonald’s matches through Prime Video, featuring teams such as Paris Saint-Germain, Olympique Lyonnais, Olympique de Marseille & AS Monaco, at a cost of £2.49 per game.
Prime Video says there’s no requirement for users to hold Amazon Prime membership. As the games are offered on a pay-per-view basis, there’s no contract or long-term commitment.
Coverage of Ligue 1 McDonald’s through Prime Video starts on Saturday 22nd February 2025, beginning with AJ Auxerre v Olympique de Marseille at 8pm. Olympique Lyonnais v Paris Saint-Germain follows on Sunday 23rd February 2025.
Ligue 1 started the 2024/25 football season without a UK broadcast partner after a deal with TNT Sports ended. As a result, it launched a live streaming pass to viewers via its own streaming service. That still limited the visibility of top flight French football on UK screens. Thanks to Prime Video’s widespread availability on TVs and other streaming devices, that’s something that will now change. Prime Video is already the home to a range of live UK and European football games.
How do I find Ligue 1 games on Prime Video?
Prime Video customers will see a selection of available French football matches in the Sports home-page on the Prime Video app.
Once you have bought a Ligue 1 McDonald’s match it will appear in the ‘Live & Upcoming’ carousel on the homepage.
How do I buy?
You can use your existing Amazon billing details to purchase up to three Ligue 1 McDonald’s fixtures per match-week through to the end of the season, beginning on 22nd February 2025.
The upcoming ‘Le Classique’ between Paris Saint-Germain & Olympique de Marseille on 16th March will also be available for a one-off cost of £2.49.
