Eurosport will be demoted on Sky satellite during its last day on air in the UK and Ireland, as channels are reshuffled.
- TNT Sports 3 and 4 fill Eurosport’s slots.
- Eurosport’s content spread across existing channels and streaming.
Eurosport ceases broadcasting in the UK and Ireland overnight from Thursday 27th to Friday 28th February. Its last day is filled with hours of live cycling, winter sports and snooker – but, according to Sky, Sky Q and Sky+HD viewers will find Eurosport’s final live events on a different channel number.
Sky has confirmed that during Thursday 27th February, Eurosport 1 and 2 will be demoted down the channel list. Meanwhile, TNT Sports 3 and 4 move up to replace Eurosport.
- TNT Sports 3 will move to channel 413, replacing Eurosport 1.
- TNT Sports 4 will move to channel 414, replacing Eurosport 2.
This means Eurosport’s final hours on air will be available on Sky satellite channel 417 (Eurosport 1) and Sky satellite channel 421 (Eurosport 2). Both channels will be delisted from Sky’s Electronic Programme Guide on Friday 28th February.
The end result will see the four TNT Sports channels occupy slots 410, 411, 413 and 414 on the Sky satellite channel guide. The channels are only interrupted by Sky Sports+ on channel 412.
Eurosport’s UK and Ireland closure was confirmed at the end of January by owners Warner Bros Discovery (WBD). Eurosport will continue to broadcast elsewhere in Europe.
If you have Sky Glass or Sky Stream
On Sky Glass and Sky Stream, TNT Sport is already listed above Eurosport.
On Friday 28th February, Eurosport 1 and 2 will cease to be broadcast on Glass/Stream channel 417 and 418.
What happens to Eurosport content?
Content previously shown on Eurosport 1 and 2 will be scattered across TNT Sports 1-4.
Ahead of Eurosport’s closure, TNT Sports 3 and 4 are already carrying coverage of the Snooker World Open and the Nordic Combined Skiing World Championship in addition to Eurosport.
TNT Sports will continue to offer a red button service with additional streams to provide extra coverage of certain events.
Going forward, the full arena of live sports and highlights programmes previously shown on Eurosport will be available via Discovery+ Premium until the end of the year. From 2026, streamers will migrate to replacement streaming service Max. Importantly, this means viewers who want full access to all of Eurosport’s former content will need to pay more to access the Premium tier. However, for viewers only wanting to watch specific events, it is possible to activate Discovery+ Premium for a month only.
Meanwhile, Freeview channel Quest will start showcasing a limited number of sports programmes. The first such show, The Ultimate Cycling Show, a comprehensive guide to bike racing on track, road and in the mountains, debuts on Thursday 27th February at 10:00pm.
