After launching its free-to-stream sports channel on Samsung TV Plus, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) issues statement about the availability of Eurovision Sports in the UK.

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has expanded distribution of its free streaming platform, Eurovision Sport, onto FAST (Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television) services in the United Kingdom, marking the latest phase in the organisation’s streaming growth strategy and taking a further step in widening access to its live sport offering.
As reported last month, Eurovision Sport arrived as a channel on Samsung TV Plus. The EBU has now confirmed its availability on Free Live Sports and Plex. It also will be available through Amazon.
The UK rollout across Free Live Sports (FLS), Plex, Amazon Live and Samsung TV Plus, represents Eurovision Sport’s first FAST deployment, with additional opportunities being explored across Europe and beyond.
Launched in 2024 as the EBU’s first direct-to-consumer sports streaming service, Eurovision Sport was created to address a growing challenge for many sports in remaining universally accessible in an increasingly fragmented and subscription-driven media landscape.
The platform streams thousands of hours of live and on-demand coverage free-to-watch, complementing coverage from EBU Member public service broadcasters (e.g. the BBC in the UK) while giving wider visibility to sports, athletes and competitions.
In the case of the UK, Eurovision Sport often screens live and recorded coverage of sports events the BBC isn’t carrying on its red button / online services. These would otherwise not have an outlet for viewers in the UK.

“Eurovision Sport was built to complement the broadcasts of our EBU Members and ensure that free access to sport continues in the digital era. Expanding onto FAST is a natural next step in that strategy”.
What’s available on Eurovision Sport?
The platform now streams a broad range of international events across athletics, aquatics, cycling, football, gymnastics, winter sports and Paralympic disciplines, while also developing partnerships with national federations and broadcasters to create integrated digital experiences around live sport.
Last week, the EBU announced it would remain the rights holder of European Athletics coverage until 2031.
