BBC Future: BBC Three downgrade, more live content & a big consultation

An earlier version of this article stated the relaunch of BBC Three was three years. It is three years since the re-launch was announced, but only just over two years since the actual re-launch date. The article has been amended.

What happened to YouView, the former next-gen Freeview replacement

The article said TalkTalk’s consumer business is effectively up for sale – [context: numerous parties have been reported to have shown an interest, most recently Virgin Media O2].

TalkTalk objected to this statement, saying that a sale “has not been confirmed in any capacity”.

I reviewed the article noting the article did not imply a sale had been confirmed, but that the company was effectively up for sale. [Context: TalkTalk is being split in to multiple standalone companies which would make it easier for others to take over parts of the former single TalkTalk business.]

Following the review, I have changed the sentence “TalkTalk’s consumer business is effectively up for sale” to be more specific: “TalkTalk is being split into multiple standalone businesses. Its consumer business is the subject of various takeover rumours, with Virgin Media O2 the latest to investigate its options. Any successful takeover could end TalkTalk TV in its current form.” Marc Thornham
