Virgin Media: 22 channels opened up to all subscribers

12 February 2021
Virgin Media Freebies Feb-Mar 2021

Virgin Media is offering up to 22 additional entertainment and lifestyle channels to all subscribers over the next four weeks, on top of already running freebies.

From Monday 15th February 2021 until 16th March 2021, all viewers will have a chance to access channels normally reserved for top-tier subscription packages. These include the HD versions of E4, More 4 and Film 4 and Channel 4’s music channels including Box Hits, which become available to those on the basic subscription packages.

In addition, Virgin Media has partnered with Tastemade to bring a selection of its premium food and travel shows to its TV platform. Whether they are looking for money-saving meal plans or want to recreate a holiday at home, customers can tune into a variety of original series on demand, including The Pies That Changed My Life!, Plant-Based Budget Meals, and Travelling for your Tastebuds.

The channels available to all Virgin TV subscribers from 15th February – 16th March 2021:

  • Comedy Central HD,
  • Comedy Central Extra,
  • MTV HD,
  • E4 HD,
  • TLC HD,
  • ID,
  • DMAX,
  • More 4 HD,
  • FOX HD,
  • Discovery HD,
  • National Geographic Wild HD,
  • National Geographic HD,
  • Box Hits,
  • Kiss,
  • Magic,
  • Kerrang,
  • TCM Movies HD,
  • Film 4 HD,
  • Sony SAB,
  • Colors HD,
  • Colors Rishtey,
  • Colors Cineplex.

🔸 These channels are already contained in one of Virgin Media’s premium, or top-tier subscription packages, such as Maxit and Full House. Therefore, the main beneficiaries are those on the basic to mid-tier Player, Mix or Fun TV subscription packs or those who don’t have these channels as a ‘personal pick’ in Virgin’s build-it-yourself channel package.

Virgin Media is already offering universal access to channels including Boomerang and Cartoon Network until 2nd March, as part of an existing offer to subscribers.

Access to the Hopster app is also free until the end of March.

Virgin Media TV subscribers will automatically be able to access the channels from the channel list during the offer period.

David Bouchier, Chief TV & Entertainment Officer at Virgin Media, said:

“We realise that it can be challenging to find fresh and interesting ways to keep the kids (and ourselves!) entertained, especially during the winter months. That’s why we’ve boosted our free TV offering just in time for half term, giving all of our customers access to a large choice of additional channels and programmes.

“Those looking for inspiration and ideas can also tuck into a selection of food and travel shows from Tastemade, which are now available on demand, at no extra cost.”
