A new channel dedicated to environmental matters is gearing up to launch on satellite. EarthX TV has also obtained a licence to broadcast on Freeview.
Originally launched as a streaming platform, the EarthX TV live channel showcases programmes covering climate action, biodiversity, sustainability, community, diversity and more. It’s backed by EarthX, an international non-profit environmental organisation.
Last month, the channel’s official legal entity Earth Day Texas INC obtained Ofcom broadcast licences covering all digital TV platforms, including a specific digital terrestrial TV broadcast licence covering Freeview. EarthX hasn’t yet publicly confirmed its UK launch plans, but satellite users can already manually tune into its test transmissions on satellite. It won’t be officially added to the channel list until it is ready to launch.
