Users of the Channelbox streaming service on Freeview channel 271 can now watch the London-based Trace UK channel.
- Streaming move follows the closure of Trace’s channels on Sky last year
- Trace UK joins other Trace music channels on Channelbox.
Music and entertainment channel Trace UK, renowned for its diverse content spanning music, culture, and lifestyle is now streaming on Channelbox (Freeview channel 271), available on most connected Freeview devices.
Trace UK joins sister channels Trace Urban, Trace Latina and Trace Brazuca on the platform and marks a further expansion of the reach of the channel.
It was first spotted in May 2023 on Samsung TV Plus and has since then expanded across other streaming platforms.
Trace’s pivot to streaming-only began after the broadcaster started to close down its music channels on Sky. It’s last traditional broadcast channel, Trace Vault, closed in December.
▶ How to access Channelbox
Channelbox is a multi-channel platform available on connected Freeview channel 271 and mobile applications. If your TV supports Freeview Play and is connected to the internet either via wifi or ethernet, then the service should work.
Channelbox operates via an HbbTV app that is broadcast alongside the Freeview signal. The app acts as a portal opening up access to IP streams of over 70 different channels, some of which are in HD quality.
Freely users with a TV connected to an aerial can also access Channelbox, but on a different channel number: 561.
