IMDb TV, Amazon’s free streaming service, is now available to Prime Video users in the UK. The service provides access to originals and cult TV series and movies including Kill Bill and 90s sci-fi Babylon 5.
The UK is the first country outside of the USA to gain access to the service, which first launched at the beginning of 2019. It marks the start of a global expansion for the advertising funded on-demand service.
Offering a tailored selection specifically for British audiences, Amazon bosses hope to win viewers with a broad range of content. However, IMDb TV won’t be producing any UK original programming itself.
What’s on?
The service includes IMDb TV Originals Luke Bryan: My Dirt Road Diary, Moment of Truth, and Top Class: The Life and Times of the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers.
You will also find a library of thousands of movies and television shows. They include Pulp Fiction, Napoleon Dynamite, Kill Bill, Cloverfield, Babylon 5, Community, 2 Broke Girls, and more.
How to access it…
- UK Prime and non-Prime customers can access IMDb TV through the carousel within the Prime Video app.
- Later this autumn, the free streaming service will also be available via a standalone app on Fire TV.
Lauren Anderson and Ryan Pirozzi, co-heads of content and programming, IMDb TV said:
“IMDb TV has created a free-to-consumer destination by combining a hybrid of exclusive Originals from Amazon Studios and highly sought-after movies and television. Today’s UK launch marks a major step in our mission to deliver customers widely appealing content and globally relevant storytelling, through a personalised, free streaming experience.”
