A new piece of legislation passing through UK Parliament is set to change the way we cancel subscription services.
New and existing Sky customers will pay new prices from April 2024. Earlier this month, Sky confirmed prices will rise by an average of 6.7%. Broadband, TV and phone services will all be increasing in price.
Virgin Media O2 uses the higher RPI measure of inflation to calculate its annual price rise, meaning its customers will face a price rise that’s more than double the main rate of inflation.
Sky’s broadband and pay TV customers will face an average 6.7% rise in the cost of their subscription from April.
Virgin Media counted the cost of letting subscribers go without penalty when they put up prices. Now, in line with other providers, leaving as a result of a price rise will result in a penalty payment for the customer.
Sky’s new range of wi-fi TV sets will go on sale on 18th October, as it makes its first move to a dish-less service in the UK.
