Test transmissions for News UK’s brand-new news and current affairs channel have begun on satellite, ahead of its launch this spring.
During the test period, talkRADIO TV is being carried on the frequency. This service will evolve into talkTV, with talkTV retaining talkRADIO TV’s output in daytime.
TalkTV will be available on both Sky and Freesat, as part of its mission to be widely available in the UK. Parent company News UK says “everyone in the UK will be able to access the channel and its programming, live or on-demand, either on their television or on any personal device.”
TalkTV will feature nightly shows with Tom Newton-Dunn and Piers Morgan. Its schedule will also include factual programmes and a weekly satire show.
On satellite, the channel is being exclusively broadcast in high definition
Sky and Freesat channel numbers are yet to be confirmed.
