The Freeview monthly channel update for November unlocks crime drama movie channel GREAT! Mystery.
- Viewers advised to retune Freeview to ensure they have the full set of currently available channels.
The home of the mystery whodunnit, GREAT! Mystery, is now available as a streaming service on Freeview. This follows the TV platform’s monthly channel update, which completed at just after 11:00 am on Wednesday morning.
Available on Freeview channel 61, GREAT! Mystery offers non-stop crime mystery movies, building the genres covered by sister channels GREAT! Movies, GREAT Action and GREAT! Romance.
To watch GREAT! Mystery on Freeview, viewers will need a compatible connected TV, e.g. any TV that supports Freeview Play. Due to the nature of how the channel is broadcast, programmes can’t be recorded.
GREAT! Mystery first launched earlier this year on a number of streaming platforms, including Rakuten TV and Netgem, as part of owner Narrative Entertainment’s growth on streaming TV platforms. Narrative is also building is presence on Freeview, providing connected TV users with on-demand streaming portal GREAT! Player, which is available via channel 63 and streaming channel GREAT! Romance Mix, which has now moved to channel 62.
Freeview channel 61 was previously used by GREAT! Real, which subsequently went streaming-only.

If your TV supports Freely instead of Freeview
Newer TVs may include Freely instead of Freeview.
GREAT! Mystery will also appear on Freely TVs following their update on channel 57.
At the moment, Freely users will need to connect their TV to a TV aerial to access the GREAT! Network of channels via the Freeview signal. These are currently not available to Freely TVs in wifi or ethernet only mode, even though some are distributed via streaming – this is because Freeview streaming channels use a different method to Freely streaming channels.
